S.E.R.V.E. = Servants Engaged in Regular Volunteer Events!

This fall, we’re doing things a little differently! Instead of one SERVE weekend, we’ll be offering multiple service project opportunities throughout the month of October.

Our goal is for every small group to choose a project date that works for them and serve together as a team. Projects include helping with organizations like Single Parent Provision, Families Forward (Bidwell), Many Hands for Haiti, and Agape Resource Pregnancy Center. Each project typically runs 2–3 hours and will be coordinated in advance by the Missions Team.

👉 Not in a small group? No problem. You can still sign up to serve individually! And if you’d like to serve more than once, we’d love to have you jump in for additional projects.

This is a great opportunity for our church family to be the hands and feet of Jesus in the Des Moines area, blessing our neighbors with practical service and the love of Christ.

Serving opportunities:

  • Many Hands:
    • Propose a date/time you would like to serve, and we will confirm with them. NOTE: They are not available the weekend of October 11/12.
  • October 4:
    • Single Parent Provision – Home Provision Serving Days – tasks vary from yard work, to painting, rehanging doors, sealing windows, assembling furniture, cleaning, organizing, etc. – morning or afternoon
  • October 5:
    • Single Parent Provision – Home Provision Serving Days – tasks vary from yard work, to painting, rehanging doors, sealing windows, assembling furniture, cleaning, organizing, etc. – afternoon
  • October 18:
    • Single Parent Provision – Home Provision Serving Days – tasks vary from yard work to painting, rehanging doors, sealing windows, assembling furniture, cleaning, organizing, etc. – morning or afternoon
  • October 19:
    • Single Parent Provision – Home Provision Serving Days – tasks vary from yard work to painting, rehanging doors, sealing windows, assembling furniture, cleaning, and organizing. – afternoon
  • October 21:
    • Families Forward (Bidwell) – evening
  • October 25:
    • Agape Resource Pregnancy Center – Assisting with interior and exterior cleanup projects, routine maintenance, routine groundskeeping needs, or deep cleaning of our two buildings – 9-11:30am
  • October 25:
    • Families Forward (Bidwell) – 10am-noon

 

Registration Note: Small groups should designate a point person to sign up and be the representative for communication, but individuals can register to serve, too.
